Today our family feels idyllic. Nolie woke up in a great mood and padded into our room with the sweetest little voice asking to nurse. She snuggled tight between us and “nursed a mama” while I dozed and Charlie got up to read and start Nolies breakfast. I woke up able to breath and go a length without coughing. Hooray for health!
I mixed up some cinnamon roll dough (thanks Pioneer Woman) and we bundled up (30 degrees this morn!) and headed to the grocery store to pick up some fixings for our meals this week. We toddled around the store eating samples and buying a fruit we had a never tried, persimmon (a berry actually, did you know?)! Once home breakfast came together easily and fast. The cinnamon rolls were better than any I have ever had before. We used coconut oil in place of veg oil and added a little to our filling too and it made a world of taste difference. Seriously incredible!
We had plenty left over so we took a plate over to the neighbors and then continued on in our wonderful Sunday. Playing, reading, hanging Christmas lights, singing Santa Baby a million times over, drinking cranberry cider and lazy nursing that was kinda a poor excuse for a nap. This Sunday was nothing extraordinary in any accomplishment but it was a perfect family day. Spending time just our little three (four!) enjoying each others company without any stress or obligation. What a great Sunday.
Hope you had as lovely and lazy of a weekend as we did. Our Sunday was perfect… our Friday and Saturday were spent with me laid up on the couch lamenting my horrible cold and shirking all work onto Charlie while I caught up on Bones (cutest pregnant ever) and Real Housewives (embarrassing).
Tomorrow we head in for our Fetal Survey- aka the “big ultra sound”. I am equal parts super excited and pretty nervous. It is a big deal and there is a lot that you find out at this point. We are going to ask the Tech to write the sex (if the baby is cooperative) down on a card and we are going to seal it and wait to open it till Thanksgiving. We are So thankful for this baby and so excited to find out if we are having another little lady baby or charging into the unknown!
FYI: a week from today we will live with an honest to goodness two year old… say what?!
