Neighbor gifts, hostess offerings, teacher presents, christmas party take-aways, I always feel stumped. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on something that will likely get popped into a pile of presents and forgotten till it’s purged in February. I want to give something useful, cute, and that won’t mold or fall apart.
I am planning on sharing a couple of easy recipes that fit the bill over the next week or two, but I wanted to start with this darling one. It’s a hit especially for kiddos and a great one since it’s allergy conscious. Bonus! You likely have the main supplies on hand, already.
Dairy Free Cocoa Mix
Small Mason Jars with Lids
Twine/Ribbon/Yarn for wrapping a little gift Tag
Gift Tag or Darling Stir Stick (these cute ones are all from the Target Dollar bins! Only $3 for a bunch!)
Ingredients (per serving):
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 inch of a vanilla bean (optional)
1/4 cup dairy free chocolate chips (Optional, also Trader Joe’s carries DF chocolate bars that are easily chopped up!)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Mix all ingredients together in jar, shake well, secure lid tight.
Tie with a bow and attach stick and/or card.
One tablespoon of mix to one cup of milk (we love it with almond milk!)
Warm and stir!
I’m planning on make a bundle of these for neighbors along with a couple of other jarred cute recipes I’ll share soon. These are so simple and low cost to make that I will likely put together extra’s and have a teacher gift (this with a cute mug? or pound of coffee? ) ready to go, as well as easy stocking stuffers to toss into families stockings for Christmas. The mix keeps as long as the lid is secure, and vanilla and cinnamon give it something a little different and extra!
