I’ve been playing out my yoga journey on IG primarily. I’ve found some great and empowering yogi’s to follow, and am keeping up with cranking the music and making my own flows, or popping on a YouTube (Yoga With Adriene!) video most days. I wanted to share a few of my top posts from there. Some are older than others, but all give a pretty good picture into my yoga practice and journey. I’m planning to be sharing more about Why Yoga, how I keep a cozy and consistent practice going, and the long-term benefits I’m experienceing. Ever since attending the Northwest Yoga Conference (I wrote about my experience over on NW Healthy Mama, check it out here) last year, my fire was lit in an unsnuffable way (also, check out the Giveaway to attend that conference, here!!). I’m so excited for it to keep growing, and my yoga teacher dreams right along with it.
Im in a holiday bake sale flurry! Marshmallows, meringues, pumpkin brownies, cocoa mix, and some chocolate chip cookies too! So… to break up the baking, I have popped my mat here for some interludes. Feels good, and keeps me from being a crazy-o about sugar/kiddos/and needing to get dinner going too (thank the good lord, my husband is reading my blog recipe ? and making chicken and potatoes now!). It’s a Christmas music, warm home, cleaning g kinda day. #yogabreak #weirdyoga #inversion #inversionjunkie #autumnonthemat
Yesterday was go-go-go and was the first day I haven’t done any yoga in about two months. And wen I laid down to seek last night I could feel it. Today is another jam packed day, but starting it with #ywa and this #coreofgratitude position really helped me calm my heart and body down for a big day. #cowfacedpose I’m not advanced enough to sit on my heels so I put them out beside me, and this felt really great. #yogaeverydamnday #autumnonthemat
My daughter asked me to video some of her cartwheels to post for her cousins to see, and afterwards she attempted some hand and head stands, when she was done she asked me to do some and she wanted to take photos. It was so sweet, and such a good reminder of what little sponges kids are. It feels good to feel so great about what I’m modeling. And some mama/daughter yoga at the beach is basically my dream come true. #autumnonthemat #sweatpink
I have a bad habit of using my workout as an excuse to be fairly inactive the rest of my day. Going hard for 40min and then losing myself to aimless internet scrolling, and sitting way.to.much. It’s embarrassing to admit because I know my life has the potential of being incredibly active. But after years of constant baby bouncing and stroller nap walking I’ve embraced this new phase of independent kiddos to a weird and detrimental degree to my mental and physical state. So for this week I’m setting some goals and intentions for myself, and putting them on here as accountability to meeting them. 1. I’ll be waking up with my youngest and getting either my workout or yoga done first thing. 2. I won’t lounge in my bed. This is another embarrassing and hard thing. My bed is so beautiful and cozy and luxurious and available….too often. My husband built it for me a month ago and I basically haven’t left it because I love it so much. But I need to just make it in the morning and leave it alone. 3. Doing either my yoga or workout in the evening (of it’s an arm day I’ll save it for evening with my husband). Whichever i don’t do in the am. 4. Water. Water water water. Happy new week! Here is to intentions, Grace, and goals ?? #accountability #autumnatthegym #autumnonthemat #newmoon
