Galentines and that now ever popular phrase: Treat Yo’ Self! are two self care concepts that have permeated my heart and brain. Be that in my dogged love of ladies, time with friends, and prioritizing my female friendships to a whole new level this year… or just my love of brunch, multiple drinks, and all things fancy. I’ve been working hard to say ‘yes!’ to the things that fill me up. Friendships, the opportunity for new friendships, collaborations with amazing women, and brunch. Just, always yes to brunch.
Spending time investing in my friendships has been really life giving this year. In the past I’ve always just leaned into having Charlie as my person. This year, I’m working hard to be vulnerable and There with my friends. Showing up for them, allowing them to show up for me, and really reveling in how much we can all support each other. My yoga classes? FILLED with friends. Incredible women who I can’t even believe my luck that I get to see, work with, and support/be supported by every week. Deciding to leap into friendship with arms open and trust the right friends will open up to me. . . made for a very bright January.
When I was asked to attend a special Galentines brunch with some of my favorite blogging babes (I’ll link them all below so you can check out their gorgeous pages!) I knew this was the perfect time to say YES to my new resolutions. More time with amazing women. More amazing collaborations. And more fancy food. And this adventure did not disappoint, not at all.
From the moment I arrived, I was just blown away. By the beauty, the space, the details, and how incredibly thoughtful every touch was. This meal, these gorgeous floral decorations, the absolutely gorgeous table styling, and the women. . . you couldn’t go wrong! It also made me realize how much I want to plan a Gal’s brunch (I can’t get my life together enough to do it before Valentines, but, you know, there is never a bad time for brunch with friends) for my Bellingham bests. Also, incredibly done flower arrangements are now a complete must. But level up? SUCCULENT NECKLACES. I mean… Also? I just planted my necklace. Yes, you read that correctly. My necklace is now growing in my windowsill and serves as such a gorgeous reminder of a fantastic morning.
Everything at Urbane was AMAZING. But the stand-out’s for me were the granola and yogurt (also, breakfast appetizer? THIS IS BRILLIANT) and the croque madame (pictured above), had a Beechers (local to Seattle, and heaven on earth) béchamel sauce that was just ridiculous. This was the first ever egg dish that I LOVED. Also, their blood orange mimosas were the definition of Worth It and made the whole morning feel so festive. There is also something inherently self-care feeling about getting yourself gussied up, especially if your typical uniform is yoga pants and Birkenstock’s.
My dress and top are from Forever21, shoes are from Goodwill, and hips are from my Mama.
Huge thank you to the amazing Urbane, incredible bloggers, stunning floral creations, beautiful photographer, and the incredible staff at Urbane for putting up with all our giggling, photo taking, and general mayhem of working with bloggers. Charlie and I are already planning when we can get to Urbane again to have the croque madame (that cheese sauce… I mean.) again as a treat in the city!
The AMAZING Bloggers…
Paige from Seattle on the Run, is an inspiring runner, writer, and shares all about the amazing eats in Seattle, her gorgeous photography, and some seriously rev- you- up running posts!
Kusum from Sveeteskapes is just the BEST. Her smile is infectious, she’s a new Mama to the cutest baby (he was at brunch too and my hubs and I fell hard for this sweet baby!), and she shares about all things fancy, fashion, travel, and now? The sweetest and most helpful parenting posts too!
Angie from Chasing My Halo is the sweetest, easy to chat with, and genuine person. I’ve followed her online for quite awhile but this was the first time I met her in person and she is so bright, light , and FUN! She blogs about fashion, adventures around Seattle, health, and a bit about her sweet new baby too!
The Talented Photographer and Florist, and Stylist!
Missy is AMAZING. All of the above photos are by her, in poor light, with wild women all wielding our cell-phone cameras. She’s patient, kind, incredibly talented, and has vision like whoa. Her site is full of bright and beautiful images that tell a story from the first frame. I can’t wait to work with her again!
THESE FLOWERS. First and Bloom blew me away. The arrangements, the floral necklaces… just out of this world. The whole thing looked like it dropped out of an Anthropologie catalogue. Her eye for detail, beauty, and making sure it was all just perfect, was spot on and incredible. Her details really made the morning.
Styling by Holcomb Weddings was thoughtful, on trend, without being ‘trendy’ and brought so much light and beauty to the space and event!
Happy (almost) Galentines! I hope you get a chance to get out and celebrate with the friends who hold you up.
